Elevate your table or your wall with this rare vintage set of six Italian ceramic plates, hand-painted in the 1970s by the Di Simone family workshop in Cunardo, Varese. Known for their mastery of cobalt detailing and elegant forms, these plates are a testament to Italy’s artisan heritage during a golden age of ceramic production.
Each plate measures 19.5 cm (7.7 inches) in diameter and features a delicately pierced, basket-weave rim (bordo intrecciato traforato). This distinctive mid-century design adds both texture and lightness to the piece. Inside, a hand-painted floral motif in deep cobalt blue, terracotta, and ochre captures the natural elegance of Italian folk art with a refined, timeless feel.
This set comes from a small, now-rare production run during a period when former artisans from the famed Coronetti factory opened independent studios in Cunardo. Very few sets like this are still available today, especially in such excellent vintage condition, making these plates both a collector's find and a beautiful functional heirloom.
